Sports Disasters, Culinary Creations and Travel Adventures!!

I haven’t really blogged in a while. It’s been a lousy showing in sports lately, with the Rangers down 2-0, the Yankees boasting a losing home record, California Chrome coming up short in the chase for the Triple Crown and Nadal defeating Djokovic. And most significantly, I am still sore from the 5K I ran on Saturday. About that 5K. Ahh, remind me never again to run competitively after a four month hiatus from physical activity. Other than rolling around on my chair at job #1 to file charts and the occasional sprint up the ramp at Yankee Stadium (job #2), I hardly ever expend energy. 

On the bright side, I have added another element to my illustrious culinary repertoire – quinoa. It’s actually quite easy to cook, kind of like rice once you have soaked it for a while. Despite being healthy, it is actually pretty tasty, I hate to admit. Don’t get me wrong, I will never abandon my traditional carbs, but it will help me cut down from pasta six nights a week to maybe five! Patience young grasshopper! Alas, I have not been able to nix the homemade brownies my Aunt brought me. 

Well since this is a sports, food AND travel blog, I suppose it’s only fair that I remind everyone of my trip to Savannah, Georgia this coming weekend. Peaches and Beaches, y’all! Can’t wait to embrace the southern hospitality culture with my best friend by eating glorious food, exploring the city’s famous squares and going on a ghost tour, of course! Don’t worry, I’ll post foodie pictures upon my return. I’m sure I’ll pick up some tips and be a sweet tea and shrimp with grits expert upon my return!
